Research Nurse at Karolinska University Hospital
Are you a licensed nurse with several years of experience looking to further develop your career? Do you want to work independently in a team around the patient? Do you want a job where you have time for each patient? Would you like to work in specialties where many new treatments are on the way? Then this position at Karolinska University Hospital might be perfect for you!
You will be offered
- a team-based job in our clinical research unit within dermatology and rheumatology
- an independent and flexible job where you have great opportunity to plan your own time
- a combination of practical nursing work mixed with work on study material registration
- the opportunity to help develop and influence the operations
- continuous education within the specialty and clinical research
- the position is full-time and the work is primarily during the day, Monday to Friday.
Of course, you will also benefit from the general benefits that Karolinska University Hospital offers you.
About the position
Within Gastro Dermatology Rheumatology, we have chosen to organize our clinical studies under a separate unit where about 15 nursing staff work. The group will have two nursing managers from the beginning of the year, so shared leadership will be relevant. We are now looking for two research nurses who want to be part of our group, one position in rheumatology dermatology. Here you can read more about ME Gastro, Dermatology, Rheumatology.
The work as a research nurse primarily involves coordinating clinical trials and working with various registers. The work includes both patient-related and non-patient-related administrative tasks. Practical patient-related tasks may include participating in the patient consent process, working with data collection (e.g., ECGs, samples, biopsies), administering medications, and handling and sending various types of sampling materials. Non-patient-related tasks may include identifying and recruiting patients for studies, as well as coordinating study patients' visits and examinations to then enter this data into various databases.
Each research nurse has primary responsibility for a number of studies, which means that the nurse has extra responsibility/knowledge about their studies and the patients participating in these studies. The nurse works closely with the other research nurses, study physicians, clinic staff, and any external sponsors, such as pharmaceutical companies.
The work also includes participating in collecting data in various disease registers used for research and quality assurance.
The working hours are primarily daytime, Monday to Friday. There may occasionally be meetings in the evenings or weekends, as well as travel with overnight stays outside of Stockholm and Sweden in connection with study starts or conferences or training. The work will be performed at the Solna site, but there is an opportunity for occasional remote work after agreement with colleagues and the nursing manager.
We are looking for someone who
- plans, organizes, and prioritizes work efficiently. You set and adhere to deadlines
- seeks a job where you have a lot of personal responsibility for how you plan your work and your workday
- has enough experience as a nurse to feel confident in your role
We place great importance on personal suitability.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Licensed nurse with several years of experience in the profession
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
Meritorious:
- Experience in drug studies and clinical trials is highly meritorious but not a requirement
- Experience in dermatology and/or rheumatology
- Relevant further education.

Selection and interviews may take place continuously during the application period.
When applying, you need to attach your CV. Instead of a personal letter, we ask you to answer selection questions and briefly explain why you are suitable for the role. Answering the questions is a prerequisite for your application to be considered complete.
